  • What ate my beans?

Just inspecting the plot and I noticed one of my Runner Beans is missing half a leaf.

There's no sign of any critters (appart from the obligatory cat poo!) and no other leaves are damaged at all.

    Critter or freak of nature?

    Whaddaya think?

Slug, or, indeed, snail. Mine always get chomped a bit, but they shoot up regardless - just need to do regular spot checks when they're forming beans, as the snails will climb right to the top of the bean poles.

      Snails.
They like to shin up the canes and hide in the leaves, daytime.
