Last year we had masses of a tall spiny bramble like weed at the bottom of the garden. In the end I went over it with the lawnmower, sprayed it with ***** fluid and it went away. It's back with a vengeance. Seems to spread by putting up suckers from an extensive root system, and the young leaves look very similar to raspberry leaves. What is it, and how do I get rid of it?

The stems are green and fleshy, and are covered in tiny red spines, different to the standard bramble. Plus, they neither flowered nor produced fruits last year. I'll take a photo and put it up later.Comment
