    Veg for growing in pots now to transplant later

    Hi,

    I know some people have been asking for advice on what to plant now.

    My raised beds is full up at the moment so just wondered if anyone could advise one what would be good veg to start off in pots now that I can plant out as space becomes free in my raised beds over the next few weeks.

    Hope this hasn't been posted before. If it has then sorry and could someone point me in the direction of the link.

    How about a winter lettuce or two? You may get away with beetroot, or chard, and you can put onions, garlic and broadies in direct later on in the autumn.
    Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

      There was an article in the August edition of (the other mag - shh) which suggested growing things in Morrisons Buckets
      He did cabbages (50 seeds per bucket - yes seriously 50) then thinning out, bringing them into greenhouse on 1/9
      Carrots sown in August - sow 1 Aug & 60 seeds & thin
      Spinach
      Spring Onions from autun onion sets
      Lettuce - in modules then planted into buckets 2 per bucket
      He also suggested peas, garli, chard, radish, turnips, broad beans, kales, baby leeks - moved into a cold greenhouse...

      PS I've got the same problem - too many things in modules ready to go, but all the beds are still full of summer stuff!
