Strawbini? It looks like spinach but you have fruits growing along the stem and if let to ripe, they look and taste a little like strawberry.

Hello!!
This year I managed to grow passion fruit plants from some seeds saved from a fruit bought at a local supermarket. I have only two fruit to show but the flowers are a beauty. Next year I should have a better harvest.
Regards
Don Vincenzo

Do storebought passionflowers come true from seed? And are they difficult to germinate? I've been looking for plants for a long time, but maybe I should sow them myself if I want the fruiting kind?

In my experience I didn't have any problems germinating them. Just get a passion fruit save some seeds, wash them in a fine meshed strainer, dry them and sow them in a heated propagator. Start them asap and you may have some fruits next season and no later than the next. You can get different types of edible passion fruit at various supermakets/ grocers. They are beautiful climbing plants with fantastic flowers and with the addition of having edible fruits.

Don Vincenzo

My mother in law has a fantastic looking passion fruit on her fence, the flowers are just wonderful. It fruits very heavily but none of us have ever been brave enough to try them ... I presume not all are edible!

My father has an ornamental one which apparently tastes disgusting (I was happy to take his word for it!) the flowers are really lovely though.

Thanks Don Vincenzo I think I may try that.

How big does the plant get? Where are you growing it greenhouse/houseplant?, I assume it must be self fertile then.

You can grow them in the greenhouse or against a south facing wall, treat as any vines. Never thought of self fertile. Passion plants can grow very big. Next year I will try to post some photos.
