Gardener grows UK's hottest chillies by SHOUTING at the plants | Daily Mail Online

I see the fun it it though I do like to be able to actually eat my chilies. I'm hoping to have quite a variety next year - nothing on this scale though, all in the low to medium heat range, I think a habanero will be the hottest.

Heard this guy shouting at his chillies on radio five live this morning.
My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order
to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)

I might have to shout at the Mrs and see if it has a similar effect

I keep my plants a little on the dry side, but I like to think that I do not deliberately stress them.

Habaneros approx 300,000 shu is perfectly hot enough for me!

Crikey, mine were dreadful this year! I made the mistake of not wearing gloves..... Ooh the pain, the endless, throbbing, relentless pain... it throbbed for three days! My son touched the worktop which had been repeatedly scrubbed, then touched his face!...... I reckon the shouting he did will make mine even hotter next year!
You may say I'm a dreamer... But I'm not the only one...

I'm an official nutter - an official 'cropper' of a nutter! I am sooooo pleased to be a cropper! Hurrah!

I tend to keep mine on the dry side anyway,as for the heat,I tend to grow something as atomic as possible every year just so I can pickle a jar for my brother in law who still thinks it's really macho to eat really hot chillies at the age of 50,I always give him a jar for christmas saying "try these,I'm not sure they're as good as last years"
He always rises to this and goes through an amazing range of colours before telling me he thinks they're about the same.
Over the last 4 years we've moved up from halapenos to habaneros to naga and this year trinidad scorpion. merry christmas mate Oh Oh OOOOOH
anyone else enjoy torturing their friends and family?
