| The chrystals would help, I've not used vermiculite etc for water retention so I dunno on that. - I also put in a plant pot holder at the bottom of the basket that acts as a water reservoir - works really well

| i've grown tumbling toms in 12inch baskets for last two years using only one plant per basket.Been very successful too.The guidance notes stated they were bush plants and you didn't need to pinch out leaves like other toms and mine grew like mad.would have struggled to fit two into the basket if they both grew that vigorously. had a late start last year and was left with lots of fruit unripened as the weather turned colder in late autumn......does anyone have a good recipes for using green toms?
