In Wiltshire you should be OK, but be prepared to protect them with fleece or bubblewrap if you get a frost forecast.

Mine is going down to just above freezing still. I bring them in at night - I've got 3 months growing to lose!

far to early for chillis to be in an unheated greenhouse

Mine have been in for a couple of weeks now. They seem to be managing fine with the colder night time temperatures. I think it will depend on how advanced they are. I also make sure they are not over watered which seems to help.

I'm doing the same as Flummery, its been 2.9ºc in my greenhouse overnight a couple of times this past week so I don't want to risk my plants yet.

Every year I go over this and sorry to ask again, but I seem to have difficulty pinning people down over this.

How low has your greenhouse been and your toms survived? And has anyone ever had them die and at what temps?

It would be really good if we could get people giving a lot of actual figures. "Low night time temps" is a little vague.

                  Good tip about the watering.

Please ignore everything I say, I make it up as I go along, not only do I generally not believe what I write, I never remember it either.

Mine has been down to 0.9c with toms and chillies in there and they have all survived with no apparent ill effects. I have a digital max/min thermometer in there and the biggest gap has been 2.9c min , 34c max.
                    Hope that helps

Yes it does thanks, were they covered up at all at those temps?

Two days ago my GH went from -2c overnight, to 45c in the daytime sun then I whacked on my greenhouse shading

No additional covering and the temp varies around the GH but that was the lowest recorded. I open the door in the day when it's sunny otherwise that seems to be more of a problem than the colder temps for them. To be fair I also have a number of chillies and toms indoors so I do have a back up plan
