i grew tumblers last year in hanging baskets and they done really well, but are a bit too small for the amount of cooking i want to do. (im still going to grow them this year tho)

Did you grow San Marzano outside? Have you ever tried grow Roma?

          Thanks John

Roma is a good plum tomato - the kind usually used in passata, I think. Mine did well in tubs outside and on the allotment. Didn't get blight until late in the season.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

I've grown "Matina" for quite a few years now there very tasty, have lots of juice and flesh there great for sauces/passata. Also very blight resistant and can be grown outside in full sun. Keep them watered and they'll produce there little heart out for you.

Man after my own heart Snakeshack, I to have a tumblers either side the back door in hanging baskets. Pick a few on the way out to the garden, pick a few more on the way back in and never bacon in the frying pan unless there are tumbler in there to.

I'm trying one from Seeds of Italy called Cuore Di Bue. Tomatoes grow up to half pound in weight so ideal for cooking. Don't know how it would fair outside. Good value as there are loads of seeds in the packet. Grew Marzano last year and had a good crop.
