    Tiny dots on chilli leaves

    Hi - had a look at my triffid-chilli the other day, and noticed hundreds of tiny little raised dots on the underside of its leaves.

    It doesn't show any signs of ill health - on the contrary, the thing won't stop flowering and fruiting - but I'm a bit concerned they could be eggs of something - if they are, I'm due a massive infestation!

    If needs be I can get the macro lens out tomorrow and get photos, but on my description, anyone recognise my description?

    They're not aphids are they? Can't think of anything that lays eggs in huge numbers but whitefly and you would know if you had those on there.....erm...a photo maybe?

      I once had bacterial leaf spot on some plants (I think they were peppers, but wouldn't swear to it). It was diagnosed by a friend who was a botanist and I used a copper fungicide to clear it up - Bordeaux mixture, I think. It was some time ago, but remember it did not affect the crop.

        Sounds like mineral salts - nothing serious.
        Certainly doesn't sound like bacterial leaf spot which would be big brown sploges.

          Not aphids yet - I was a bit concerned they might be greenfly eggs, but what with the weather this year I'd have expected them to have hatched by now.

          I'll do the photo thing tomorrow when I have a minute - I'm about to run out the door, with fingers crossed that it's mineral salts, as that sounds by far the least horrible option

              I'll make sure to open the window in the room it's in a bit more, should help it a bit.
