  • Is there somthing wrong with my Butternut?

This year has been a disaster for almost everything within a slugs reach but out of everything i have planted my sweetcorn is going great, my outdoor Cucs and my butternut which i am growing up over a swing seat.

now its in a huge pot with compost and i have fed it aswel with a multi purpose feed but the lower leaves are starting to go yellow ? is this normal ?

I had that problem with Gladys the BNS last year, i think VVG suggested feeding it with comfrey. Could also be rubbishy weather conditions. BNS's are notoriously touch and go. Try feeding with a specific feed. I was advised that BNS love lots of poo and humus in their beds.

Nope. Chicken poop (if you look at the label) is high in nitrogen (which is for leaf growth).

You want to feed the fruits (high potash: like comfrey tea).

Lower leaves do turn yellow on all kind of plants, it's quite normal, not usually anything to worry about.
