  • Sweetcorn with a pink rinse.

I can't for the life of me remember the variety but I know the seeds looked no different to other corn seeds. I've never grown one with pink tassels & wondered if the corn was going to be red.............ps. 5 to a square foot works.

Probably not, mine had a mixture of pink and yellow tassles. The corn is bi-coloured, white and yellow (ish). Had my first ever home grown sweetcorn today, was dead chuffed, I've been looking forward to it all year

          That looks amazing!
Imagine if the corn is red, serving it up at a BBQ. Hehehe...

It's not minipop is it BM? That definitely has pink tassels. Oooh la la.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Yes, I am sure it is. Cheers Jeanied. What threw me out was that I was expecting the plant to be mini as well but they are over 7 foot tall.

You are supposed to pick them before the tassels appear, BM - they are the mini cobs you use in stir fries. I gather they aren't worth growing on to full cobs.

There is at least one normal sized sweetcorn that has red or pink tassels.

Sugar buns veriety grows with pink tassles. It's a regular size sweetcorn and tastes super yum.

I thought I remembered BM saying he was putting minipop in his square foot planting scheme is all, folks! Minipop is very tall but produces lots of little cobs if you catch it in time!
