    is this a sweet potato?

    Dear all, the attached photo shows what might be the harvest from a sweet potato plant.

    Is that purple thing on the left all I have? Or am I missing something.

    I bought about ten plug plants back in spring, and I planted them directly in to the soil of my polytunnel.

    The leaves are right but as for the roots!! I'd replant it (in a pot under cover?) and hope for better things next year. If you cut the above ground stems off you may be able to root those up in water too. Nothing much to lose at the mo!

      Well the one on the left looks like an anorexic relative of what I'd call a sweet potato! Yes, I'd plant it again too.
