Default "Sticky's" for reference.

Just a thought.

Would it be worth having sticky threads for all the major types of veg, that could basically be growing advise for that type?

For example, only yesterday by chance in another thread did I learn that pea's don't like having their roots disturbed. Quite fortuitous since I was going to plant 100 or so doubled up in seed tray cells!

Spacings, watering regimes, in fact anything that is particular to that crop could be in it.

I do appreciate that this is in some ways similar to the call that we occasionally get from GYO for advise to go in the mag. However, the difference would be that someone (more knowledgeable than I, so I can't do it!) could sift the thread and keep in the good stuff.

I appreciate there is a search function, but as I have found myself, it doesn't help if you're not sure what question you should be asking!

What do others think?

I think this might clog the boards up a bit Doctor. However, I often sow my peas in seed trays. I don't lift and disturb the roots as you might when potting on, I hoik 'em out with the surrounding square of compost. They don't mind at all. Remember there are always several different ways of doing things. As the old saying goes "Every gardener know more than every other gardener!"

I think this has been mooted before but I'll be blowed if I can remember why it was decided not to go for it.?

I suppose it would diminish forum usage if everyone just came on and used it as a reference library without contributing!

And there would be arguments aplenty; as there is never one right and wrong way of doing things [I quite often seem to do things 'differently' but they work for me].

The other thought about having stickies for lots of bits is that you'd end up with the bulk of the first page being possibly old stickies and not new threads. There's always the Refence Board. If anyone thinks anything older should be popped in there, PM one of us and we'll move it if we see fit
