  • Sprouting Potato

    Hi,

Just a quick question regarding our potoatoes.

We've always grown Pentland Javelin and Marfona for many years but this year they have decided to sprout now.

We have them bagged up as we have always done but this year they are turning into aliens!!

Is this happening with anyone else?
    thanks

It does not matter what our specific fate is as long as we face it with ultimate abandon.

Would it be because of the mild weather with it being warm during the day and night. I am having a similar problem with my apples in that years gone past they kept for months and months, but already some of them are starting to rot, probably I think due to the same thing.

Yes, the same is happening with my International Kidney potatoes. I think Dianne1234567 is right and it is due to the unusually mild autumn.
It is the doom of man, that they forget.

Good, to know. Mine have all done the same. I discovered this one evening reaching blindly into the potato pouch in the porch. Scared the bejesus out of me!!!
