    So excited!

    This morning I checked my propagator and lots and lots of seedlings! I bought a few things I wanted to try this year such as tomatilla's, okra's, lemongrass and they are all sprouting happily in an unheated propagator. So excited!!! And my cardoon is well on his way in my porch as well.

      Know the feeling! Just potted up 3 rosemary cutting that I have had in water on the kitchen window sill and which have grown roots - soooo exciting!
      If the river hasn't reached the top of your step, DON'T PANIC!

        It is exciting isn't it? I keep enthusiastically saying to my wife "There's more new shoots in the greenhouse ", to which she replies "Well what did you expect?...you put seeds in compost and watered them, of course they're growing, that's what they're supposed to do." LOL
        Tried and Tested...but the results are inconclusive

            I saw my first tomato seedling this morning that I planted 13 days ago & left in the warm porch.
            I also planted chilllies, babycorn, sweet peppers & strawberrys but no sign of them germinating just yet.

            I see my mangetout peas has popped up in my raised bed too. My first year of growing my own & I'm loving seeing them sprout

              No matter how long you've been growing, it's still exciting to greet the seedlings. When I open my bedroom curtains in the morning, the first thing I do is say "Hello" to the plants on the windowsill!

                      I get so excited too!! I just have to stay on track now and make sure I keep on top of all the chores and potting up!!

                        Yes, the OH has made a wooden thingy to make newspaper pots with (insprired by the stand at the Edible Garden show!). So I will be making newspaper pots to pot on my broad beans, and he will use 'em for his toms.

                        Oh don't you just love this time of year! (The sun is shining, the birds are singing, the peas are growing along with everything else.....)

                          This year I had a real sort out of my seed box and decided to throw out really old seeds, (some lettuce seed was 10 years old!) and sow some of the rest. Rather than leave them languishing for another year.

                          Now what exactly do I do with a dozen or so each of 13 tomato varieties? More of Minibel and Tumbler; I had GD and all her friends in mind.

                          VC, I don't have any 'big boys' to chat to in the morning but I will have to think about what I say to my Speckled Roman and Black Prince.

                            I check my propagators and any seedling first thing and do a quick check in the greenhouse even before putting the kettle on Once I've got my mug of tea even if its raining I have a look around the garden.
                            Location....East Midlands.
