  • Snapped Courgette plant

I tried to move my overgrown courgette plant in the greenhouse to outside but as I did the stem snapped off completely. After initial shock I decided it won't hurt to try and place the top of the whole plant in water and see if it sprouts roots. Worth a try. Anyway, almost a week on and it's still alive and flowering. The large leaves had wilted so I cut them off to give the plant a better chance of putting energy into new growth.

is this me being too hopeful ?

    Any signs of roots?

It wouldn't hurt to give it a little feed I use very dilute Miracle Grow.

Don't give up on the remaining bit of the plant either. I was given a young cucumber plant by a very kind grape - unfortunately the top snapped off as he gave it to me
It has sent out a new stem and has flowers and cucumbers on it

No roots yet and not fed with anything. Could try nettle or comfrey feed.
