Default Slug trap - for snails too?

Do snails like the beer traps too? I don't have a problem so much with slugs, but the snails last year were rife.

Thanks!

Yes, and so do beetles unfortunately. In most places I wouldn't waste the beer...possibly alongside a crop of brassicas. In general, if you've got a clean veg patch with nowhere for snails to hide you can then put out a dustbin lid/plant pots or similar and you will find all the snails hiding under that/them. Or drink the beer and have a wander round with a torch and a bucket of brine on a damp evening...you can collect up thousands.

Just keep the lip of the trap about 2cm above the ground level and it should keep the beetles out, alternatively you can put a twig in the pot to help them climb out if they fall in.
