  • Second crop potatoes

    Hi all,

I understand that I can get some 'second crop' potatoes going in a pot and have some fresh spuds on Christmas day.

If this is indeed the case, what variety should I go for? Also...I don't want 2kilos of seed potatoes, just a couple to put in a pot...can I buy them loose - or can I just plant a couple of potatoes from the supermarket?

If I can plant some, into what type of soil. I can get hold of loads of well (very well) rotted manure, is this ok or too rich?

    Many thanks.
