Default Runner beans sprouting

First lot of peas and beans I sowed came to nothing, seemed to rot in the pots, so sowed some more a few days ago and seeing the first plants poking their heads up already.
A friend has planted a row of peas in my bed, would it be ok to plant a row of runner beans alongside (about a step apart) then they can grow up the same supports? Or do peas and beans not get on together?

I hope the answer is yes because that's exactly what I have done today! Well, the other way around, I sowed some peas next to the runner beans so that they can use the same supports and start cropping once the runners are finished. They're both legumes so I assumed they would be OK together.
