  • Are PSBs annuals or perennials?

Last year, I sowed my PSB far too early in January and they produced a tiny crop some time around April/May the same year. A year has since passed and this spring, the same plants have given me a crop again.

My question is should I sow a new set of PSB (Early Purple) this year or will my existing plants produce a crop again next year? I tried searching the web for whether they are annuals or perennials but confusingly both are mentioned!

Those terms really refer to flowering plants rather than flowering veg. I sow every year and you need to get sowing now in reality.

Most brassicas are in fact bi-ennials. i.e. they produce a seed head in their second year. Sometimes if a plant is stressed because of drought for example, it will flower in the first year.

Thanks both for your replies. I'll get sowing then as I have space for more.

My early summer purple have been in for three weeks now and I hope to be cropping from Aug/Sept.
