Hi, I was wondering this myself. I earthed mine up several times but then gave it up as there was no frost forecast & I felt they were buried deeply enough. Then last week a lot of the stems got damaged in the wind, which saw me running around like a mad woman frantically trying to earth them up again before any more damage was done. With hindsight, if I'd carried on earthing them up they would have had better protection from the winds.

Lots of people earth up many times like myself ,farmers do it once . i try and get atleast 1 foot from soil level. so about 1 foot and (ground 8" from planted spud).tend to not build up to much when flowering as started dont think it helps the plant growing more leaves and not putting energy into the spuds i could be wrong .
