  • Potatoe seed pods??

My main crop potatoes (Desiree) have suddenly developed green seed pod like things...

Any ideas - I have never seen anything like it before on potatoes...

They do sometimes produce these Grovsey and I understand you can grow new plants from them though I've never tried. However, don't attempt to eat them. Remember that spuds are related to the nightshade family - these 'spud apples' as we used to call them, are quite poisonous.

Do they look like little green cherry tomatoes ?

I have also been finding green tomatoes things amongst my potatoes and have been looking for a tomato plant growing with them. All becomes clear! tomatoes are the same family as potatoes aren't they.

Yes they are the same family. My Desiree have produced fruits this year, too. Could be something to do with all the rain we've had.
