I have just taken the last Desiree potatos up,The first potatos that have not been bothered by slugs, only fault as far as I can see is they have a fair bit of scab on them, I have read that a good limeing will cut scab down next year what do others think?

No, no, noooo! Not lime! As Two_Sheds says, you want something to slightly acidify the soil if possible. But the best thing to do would be to Ph test the soil beforehand, so you know what/how much to add.

Apart from grass clippings, you could also try composted tree chippings (ask a local tree surgeon) especially if they're from pine trees.Comment
