  • Potato question

    Hi,
Yesterday a friend of mine who has an allotment asked if I had any idea why one of his rows of spuds had drooping/falling over foliage.
He has some planted at the back of his plot which are doing fine and are still upright, but the ones at the front near the path have all fallen over.
As I am growing spuds for the first time this year I have no idea what could be going on but thought one of the more experienced grapes might be able to help.

First thought on droopy plants is lack of water. I wouldn't worry of the plants have only fallen over as it is often the case with potatoes that the foliage gets top heavy and goes over, they will still keep growing. You can always stake them but run the risk of skewering potatoes or if you have the room just let them do their own thing.

Ok, Thanks for the advice. I don't think it's lack of water but top heavy sounds very possible
