  • Which plants on windowsill?

I'm on holiday from Monday and my neighbour is garden/greenhouse sitting. I was planning on taking a few plants out of the greenhouse and onto my windowsills to give everything a bit more room whilst I'm away. They're sunny but not as warm as the greenhouse. Which plants would be best to take inside?

My toms are too big, but in pots I have peppers, chillis, aubergines, cape gooseberries, cucumber, gherkins. various herbs (these could go outside), courgettes, various squash (not quite big enough to go outside?)

wouldn't it be easier to shade your greenhouse?

I throw a bath towel over mine if I'm going away for a few days ... pegged down.

If your greenhouse is big, perhaps you could rig up a sheet or something? Anything to reduce the glare of the sun. And rig up some capillary watering doodah inside ... even standing the pots on thick layers of soggy newspaper or old towels will help.

      Hey Two Sheds

The plan was to take some stuff out of the greenhouse to give me more room. We've got some sun now (hoorray) and things are growing well so wanted to give everything a bit more space/growing room.

My greenhouse is partially shaded so doesn't get too hot. I was thinking more along the lines of which of the plants enjoy it a little cooler, or rather, what could I get away with on the windowsill.
