    From the same site:

"If seedlings are transplanted in peat pots, make sure the top edge of the peat pot is not exposed above the soil surface or the peat pot will act like a wick and rapidly draw the moisture from the root ball, stressing the plant"

I didnt know this and it will explain why some of my spinach plants have done better than others!

Those planting distances seem strange to me, some are a lot closer than I'd plant, and others are vastly further apart! We get good crops from our current spacing, I wonder if using theirs whether it would make much of a difference!

yes 12 inches for lettuce (would be nice if i had that kind of space) then just 3 inches for beans :/
im trying close spacing this year so i'll see if the 3 inch between beans works out.

This being my first year I must admit I am a little anxious to see how everything comes out with respect to spacing. I think as I have gone on planting various Vegetables, I have found myself not being so generous.

The less space inbetween your Veg, the less room there is for weeds to grow
