  • pink cauliflowers???

    Hello All

Last Sunday my prized caulies were doing great (lovely with my roast dinner). I havent managed to get back to lottie until this evening to check on them and now they are all tinged PINK!! What has happened to them and are they OK to eat/freeze?

Its usually advocated to snap a few of the larger leaves over the top of the curds to stop them getting sunstroke.

This reminds me of an amusing story.

I originally hail from Consett . Consett was a steel town, where the local steel works employed about 8000 people.(I was one of them)
You new you were in Consett by the layer of red dust that covered the place..........including the caulis!

It wasn't until I left Consett that I realised caulis weren't supposed to be pink!
My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order
to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)

    Diversify & prosper

Is that what it is then - sunstroke? Funny when we havent had much sunAnd I have them covered in wind netting to keep the bugs off and also protect from the sun. I will rush up tomorrow and cover the last one with a leaf or two.
