There is an alternate universe!

It is a place where odd socks live. It is a place inhabited by things you know where you left them but they disappear.

However it is a transient place because they only live there untill you go out and buy a replacement.

I know that the government know of this place but will not tells us about it because a lot of our tax money also goes there only to reappear when they want to fund things like Iran and Afganistan.

Spooky or what!

Default Missing / Hiding.

Here's the one that drives me crazy when I've mislaid something. Some one (trying to be helpful) will invariably say; where did you last have it ?

If I new that I wouldn't be looking for it would I.

If Mr Sheds can't find something, he stands in the middle of the room shouting "where is my ..... " until I go out there and get it for him.

I used to say "where did you last have them" but really, it's easier to just go and find them myself.
He comes in and just dumps everything on the floor - it all magically, by osmosis, finds its way to its rightful home. Then, because a thing has been put away, and is not on the floor, he can't find it.

My dad always used to tell me when I was little and looking for something that if I looked in the last place first, whatever I was looking for would be in the first place I would have looked if I hadn't looked in the last place first! No wonder I'm confused
