  • Our garden before and after

Having scoured the various topic headings on the main forum board, I couldn't decide where to put this thread, as it didn't seem to fit anywhere specific.

Then I decided that as I'm mainly into veg growing with just a few shrubs and flowers thrown in for good measure, this would be the best place, so forgive me if I'm wrong .

Although I do most of the gardening these days, it was the hard graft, vision and determination of my OH that turned an 80ft by 48ft expanse of hardcore into a beautiful, useable and productive garden.

I have attached (I hope ) some pictures of our garden taken just after we moved in - that's 6 inches of compacted (by tractors) hardcore covering the entire site - and then some taken last summer.

I think he's done a fantastic job but then I am biased .

P.S. To give you some idea of perspective, if I were to retake the 'before' shot from the side of the house today, then the fence with the hanging basket on it (in the picture with the table and chiars), would be directly in fromt of me.

WOW - what else is there to say?! That is very, very impressive, and a real credit to you both, it must have taken a huge amount of work. What a beautiful garden you have now, an inspiration to us all. Thanks for sharing it.

Absolutely brilliant. You both must be so proud. Goes to show what can be done when there's a real will to change things.Hope you both enjoy it. Well deserved.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

And all done in a single weekend too!

Makes my lopping of the hedges/trees seem a bit meagre in comparison!

                        Looks fantastic, well done.
