  • Onions not growing

my onion bulbs have crazy long roots( i know because i have planted them in big transparent bottles)..but no shoot at all.. its been a few weeks like this..
the part of the bulb above the soil have started turning green(i planted red onion bulbs)..
should i be worried?? what can i do so that they will grow shoot soon??
PS: the climate is moderate with ample sunshine and 20-25 degree Celsius temp..

They do tend to grow roots first. I'm puzzled why they as in clear bottles a larger pot or the open ground would be better.
If you add your location to your profile you won't need to describe the climate each time you post!

Why have you planted onions in glass bottles? And whereabouts are you - doesn't sound like UK.

I've moved your post to it's own thread.

But I do have to ask...roots don't like light so why are they in clear plastic bottles?

        Where are you?

        and

When exactly did you plant your onions?
