  • onion neck rot

Last year I lost about 1/3 of the crop with a rot in the neck of the onion working well into the bodyI have just lifted and transfered this years crop to a dry garage. What should I do to avoid this happening again year. So far I have laid them out to start drying off the stems.
You grow it; I'l tell you how to cook it

I found this on Google - it appears that they already have the rot in them when lifted, albeit you can't see it. BBC - Gardening - Gardening Guides - Techniques - Grow onions and garlic I try to dry my onions outdoors on fine sunny days, spread on wire racks.
