  • Oh yuck what's this?? (fungus on brassica flowers)

Does anyone know what this is? I can't even figure out how to start googling it.

Just how bad is it, and what can I do about it?

    Thanks!

any pics please? If it has been wet and warm down your way(I'd happily have some of the warmth for a day or two) then with the Cauli's habit of wrapping it's leaves around the curd, fungal infections can develop fairly quickly. A nibble by a slug can cause a wound and that can be enough to set it off.

Why are you keeping brassica flowers?

Because they were absolutely coated with bees when there wasn't much else around.

And also because I hadn't got round to taking out the PSB when it went over and flowered.

That's odd, from here I can see the pic in the post. Wet yes, warm no...

Just some of the flower heads seem all swollen and deformed, with patches of white mould all over them.

I presume by now you have pulled your PSB and added them to the compost heap, flowers and all.
