Default No male flowers on my courgettes

Hi,
My courettes started off brilliantly - I've got 2 in a large barrel and another two in a pot each. First the male flowers came and no female flowers and as I knew this was normal I wasn't worried. When the female flowers arrive (en mass!) I pollinated maybe 5 by hand, one of which didn't take, but now I don't seem to be getting any male flowers! Is that it? is there anything I can do to encourage more to grow? My 'lady' flowers are now opening and closing without pollinating (unless a bee goes in?!) and I've only had 4 full sized courgettes.

Hope someone can help.

Potter

I think it's the weather. I went to the lottie Sunday (previous visit the week before there were only male flowers). Sunday I found I had six nice little courgettes - unfortunately the slugs and snails found them before I did!!!!!! They will hopefully sort themselves out soon.

I too think it's the weather Potter. As soon as things perk up your courgettes will perk up. I never pollinate them by hand. They manage fine left alone.
