  • Nice suprise - sprouting Cavalo Nero

I left my Cavalo Nero in over the winter - only 3 plants - and had a few meals worth of leaves form them. Then, after the recent warm weather they started sprouting like PSB!! Delicious. The packet says to treat like an annual as in year two they can grow to 6ft and I was about to pull them up. Glad I didn't now

A 6 foot high Tuscan kale????? That DOES sound interesting!!! I might leave a couple growing!

I have a 6 foot high Channel Island Walking stick kale starting it's second year of growth......wonder how tall that will grow!

I did the same with my cavalo nero - got quite a few meals' worth of delicious young leaves, and little sprouts this month. All cut down and eaten now...
