  • Nice day for the allotment

Clear sky, bright sunshine and just a light breeze, gonna be a great day down the allotment, me thinks a good day for potting on tomato's and chilli's etc..

Just gonna wait for the post then off to the lotty to get on with things and wait for delivery of 20 bags of compost from wilkos.

£2.50 a bag for 60ltr if your interested.

If they are hardened off the beetroot should be ok and you can always put some fleece or old pop bottles over the lettuce.

For us in the west, it rained last night and the sun's out today. It'll rain again soon as I'm about to put some washing out
              Enjoy your day, Chris

More and more lately I get the feeling someone has got a wheel of fortune style spinning wheel and they use that a few times a day to govern the weather

Its been hailing here too, I wondered what the heck it was at first as I only heard it, didn't see it.
Now its bright sunshine and clear skys.... getting ready for the cold and frost tonight probably.
I'm hoping to plant BB's seeds this afternoon and i'm in two minds about putting the seedlings out again today to harden off with it being a bit chillier than yesterday. Ill have a think when I go to the greenhouse.
Everybody have a great day !

That's what I had hoped to do today but I thought i'd better wait till early next week. Its supposed to be only just above freezing tonight and tomorrow. I don't want the weather to kill my little salads.
What did you do in the end? Plant or leave?
I have only been hardening mine off for two days as well, so perhaps it is a bit too soon for mine.

Its roasting in my greenhouse. I had to put seedlings out for a breath of air otherwise they would have been roasted veg for tea!

It was quite nice here today. I managed to do about four hours work, but then a big black cloud came overhead and we had a massive hail storm for about 10 minutes. I hid in the shed while it happened, but once it was finished the ground was too wet and claggy to work so I gave it up for the day.
