    Hello Jayne
    welcome to the vine
1st put your location in the profile as it often helps us answer qestions
Of course all the info you could ever want is on here

Very simple 'guide' is probably 'the veg and herb expert,' by Dr hesseyon ...although there are probably better books I can recommend if I could establish your particular style of gardening.

My favourite 2 books are both by the RHS and are carol kleins: grow your own veg and the RHS allotment handbook

I am with Paul on this one Vegetable & Herb Expert by Dr D G Hessayon so much more than a planting guide and not expensive. Perhaps thats why they have sold over 50 million copies.

Hello and welcome to the vine Jayne

              This site :-

Vegetable Diary Planner shows when to plant vegetables

has a good planner and if you add your post code it will adjust the sowing and harvest info to suit your location.

We offer advice and general nuttiness around here, but books are good too!

Hi Simon & Jayne and welcome from me. We like silly little/big questions but you must be prepared for some silly answers, especially from me. Certainly, get yourself a book or two but you'll find the answers more quickly here. As for getting annoyed with you, definitely not So make yourself at home
