  • Mange tout in hanging basket

Hi I wasnwondering in anyone has ever tried to grow mange tout in a hanging basket.

I've got a couple of spare baskets in the spring - so I thought I might try.

You'd need to rig some sort of watering for them I'd have thought.... 2 litre bottle, bit of soaker hose or a dripper or something....

Would have thought they would have got too tall, and don't know how/whether they would cope with trailing. However, if you don't try you'll never know.

Yes, I've done it but make sure you get the dwarf varieties. I didn't get as much of a crop as I would have got in the ground but they looked pretty outside the back door and worked well for me when I didn't have much space.

Re the watering, no worse than a normal hanging basket.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
