  • maggot type insects in the roots of my dwarf runner beans???

hi, i was wondering why they were looking strange after coming home from a weekend away and this morning i realised it is maggot looking larvae at the roots of them....do any of you more experienced veggie growers know what this could be??

thanks in advance (luckily for now everything else is looking like it should be :-) )

From your description, it could be maggots if you used fresh manure, or cutworm

    Google Image Result for http://www.organicfoodee.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/CutWorm-567.jpg

    like the link?

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will come along soon

I assume you're in the UK?

Might be the bean seed fly or fungus gnat larvae, or something else.

        Have you a photo?
