Lasagne beds???

    Lasagne beds???

    Hi

    I have read on the forum twice now 'lasagne beds'. Can someone tell me what they are - I presume some sort of layering but layering of what and what do you grow in them?

    I think from what I recall Zazen and others saying, I may be wrong, it's the layers of mulching method on top of poor soil. So cardboard is your pasta sheet, compost, manure etc your fillings.
    Am sure they will be along soon to better explain it.

      Aaah - thought it had to be something like that. So would the top layer be compost or do you plant through cardboard?

          VirginVegGrower is correct is sheet composting bed method but there is more to then that.

              Awwww Two Sheds! No linking? That's just not fair!

              I think you could do the planting thru the cardboard, or like me, not thru the cardboard. Basically building up the beds. Could be called raised beds. But you don't need the cheese and bechamel sauce. Which is good, because I"m crap at sauces, but love lasagne beds.
