    Lack of cucumbers

    Grew 2 Bella cucumber plants in the greenhouse - had a total of 3 cucumbers from them so far this year - good news is they taste great, much better than the bitter cucumbers I've had in previous years

    But why only 3 from 2 plants?? It's almost the end of August - I expected more - the seed packed pictures showed plants loaded with cucumbers

    They are growing in 10inch pots in the greenhouse - I have a drip-feeding system so they are constantly watered, but never soaked

    What should I do to grow more (apart from planting loads of plants)??

    They like warmth and lots of feeding ... my neighbour is giving away armfuls (she's growing on the lotty, not in containers)

      Not sure if this has any baring on your own experience Farmer Gyles but I had only one solitary cuke for a long while - lots of foliage and flowers - then I picked it; fed the plant; then the others went into production full steam - like about 16 of them! I also nipped off the growing tips to concentrate growth into the fruits.

      BTW, it's the ones I have in smaller pots that seem to be more productive.

          sadly not the same for me - not had many flowers on mine - will try growing an extra couple of plants next year - we eat loads of cucumber so can never have too much!
