  • kale and broccoli

Someone very kindly gave me a pot filled with little kale (dwarf green curled) plants and another with broccoli (sprouting early purple red arrow). I've never grown either of these before.

How many kale plants can I put in a 3 foot by 3 foot bed?

I want to plant the broccoli all down along the edge of my plot (as I gather it needs a lot of room, which I don't think I want to give up from my beds). The plants are still very small, but in desperate need of thinning out. Should I pot them on into larger, individual pots? Or directly into the ground now?

They can go in the ground if you have space for them already. They need about 18" - 24" between each plant depending on variety

If you have any sign of clubroot then pot on and get strong healthy plants before planting out.
