| I recently purchased a vegetable six pack and was told it was chinese cabbage. However on development of plant I can clearly see it is not cabbage. It looks like bean pods growing on it. The plant is light green with yellow flowers and small round leaves and about 1 foot tall. The pods are hanging near the top. Help on this would be great Thanks Keith [IMG] [/IMG] |

| I'm no expert, but having googled for images for chinese cabbage flowering / running to seed - I think that might indeed be what you have. | Yes, chinese veg are better suited to cooler conditions - grow in spring or autumn, otherwise they go straight to seed (bolt) like yours has.

| Are radishes of the brassica family? They certainly have that sort of seed leaf. I think some of them flower white.

| It looks like edible rape, aka yu choy. Or possibly Chinese kale. Edible rape is grown for the flowers and flower stalks. Evergreen Seeds

| It looks like chinese cabbage which has bolted (run to seed). Try planting some in August Hoost. The oriental vegetables do better in spring and autumn. Mid summer they just bolt. And welcome to the Vine Hoost.
