| I have three girls under the age of 4, and when designing my veg garden I wanted my barrier fence, from play garden to my veg garden to be horizontal slats, and was told kids wont climb up it if told not to. As one has grown to nearly 4 years old and she doesn't listen, she tramples all over my carrots and radishes and ruined nearly the whole crop. I have the skill and materials ready to make a new vertical barrier fence, but did not get the chance because of the rain !!! I now have to work all week in hope she doent repeat her ways. |

| i recommend vertical slats, as horizontal is a fence waiting to be climbed ...... but i also recommend electrocution .......(and contraception) lol ![]()

| I'd try to give your daughter a little area of her own and help her grow her own mini veg. By learning to look after her own plants she'll probably learn to respect yours. Often telling a child not to do something makes them all the more curious about it - say don't go on my patch and you can bet they will!
