  • i have a pumpkin dilemma

i have two plants one has a large nicely orange pumpkin the other has two pumpkins on both of which are partly orange. the dilemma is the plant with two pumpkins is totally dead so should i cut the pumpkins off in case of disease from the dead plant and will they still ripen

You won't get "disease" from the dead plant, but it's no longer feeding the fruits so cut them off

They aren't fully ripe, so eat them ASAP

If they have already started to ripen then they should finish ripening off the plant and store OK but just keep an eye on them during storage.
