  • How are you summer cabbages doing?

    My summer cabbages this year are doing really well, how are yours?



    The variety above is called Sarmarsh, I use them in salads and coleslaw



    The variety above is Golden Acre, lovely sweet taste

        Growing in partial shade this year, so has help with all the dry weather and slugs are managable. Last years were arwful by comparison

            My hispi have hearted up quite well, although last years (in a similar pot in the same position) were better. The hearts have split a bit though so I am getting them eaten in case its a sign they are thinkign of bolting.

              Delicious so far, having two small ones tonight. Have 12 each of Durham early, greyhound and hispi in different small beds and planted 3 weeks apart. The cauliflowers have bolted though.
              No matter:the allotment is lovely, the tadpoles have legs, my sea kale has germinated and I am glad to be home.
