Hi there, just wondering how do you support outdoor cucumbers on an allotment?? i'm growing Burpless Tasty Green.

[I put mine next to a long cane, tie the first foot in and they generally climb the canes on their own....they will hang onto anything nearby so don't put them next to beans if you don't want them tangled......and put the cane at a 60degree angle so that the cukes hang down]

Is it one cane per plant or put a few canes at an angle as i can imagine once they start fruiting they get quite heavy.Comment

1 cane per plant - as the lower cukes grow they are harvested. If you are lucky and the cane starts to bend then pop another one in to support it.

I don't usually support outdoor cucumbers. I just let them ramble like squashes.Comment
