How many years can land cress last for if kept in the right conditions?

I guess it depends on the variety. The one I grow is variegated American land cress. It taste horrible but it is hardy perennial. I have not managed to kill them so far.

I see, the Land Cress variety I use is not verigated and tastes good. Why do you grow it if you think it tastes horrible? How long has it managed to live for?

Good question, nick. I just keep all plants. I grew them from seeds in 2007 (Thompson & Morgan Land cress Variegated winter - Barbarea Vulgaris varietata)

That is amazing. Is it very big? Have you tryed other types of Land Cress?

It is clump forming so you need to divide it keep it small. When it in flower it can reach about a meter high. Here is a pic of it.

I dont grow other land cress once I discovered water cress.

Maybe you disliked the taste of it because it is a winter variety. I have grow Land Cress that is not and it tastes good to me. I grow Water Cress too.

Have you grown the normal/typical type of Land Cress that is not multi-colour?

Did you protect that Land Cress from the cold ? I am very impressed with it.

Maybe other people like the taste you never know. It is hardy so no need for winter protection in fact it keeps the leaves in winter as well. This is the only land cress I grow maybe I should try plain coloured one.

I say this because people have said that hardy Tomatos like Sub Arctic Plenty taste bad, though I have never tryed it.
