  • how to dry beans

ive just harvested all of my borlotti beans unfortunately a lot of the pods are not dry. At the minute they are spread out and drying in their pods on my table, i was wondering if it would be better to shell the beans and dry them out of the pod as surly this would be quicker and take up a lot less room. it there any reason why the beans are normally dried in the pod?

I've certainly dried beans out of the pod as you describe John. And for the same reason of speeding it up a bit. It worked for me.

They are easier to shell when the pods are dry.
