Is it a weed or a plant? I'd really like to make my own horseradish sauce but don't know anything about the stuff,

It's a plant that has thuggish tendencies
You can buy the roots mail-order from most of the seed companies, but it's recommended that you plant them in a pot with the bottom removed, sunk into the soil. This is to stop them spreading and taking over the world, and also to make harvesting the root a bit easier.

did plant one last year but as yet not enough root to use, but i did manage to buy a piece of root at my lacal farm shop, had roast beef and horseradish sauce with the inlaws can't beat it.Comment

oh dear, my horseradish is next to my rhubarb. guess I should have checked before planting them out.Comment
