  • Hesta Beans In A 3.5 Litre Pot

    Afternoon Folks,

Would I get away with using my spare 3.5 litre pots for dwarf hesta beans?
    Cheers

Yes it says they at 'patio' veg and can be grown in containers, they dont grow very big so (apparently) dont need something to climb up. I have them too, so am looking forward to trying them.

I grew these a few years ago, although they are dwarf they still need room for there roots, as long as you don't over crowed them they should be OK.

seems a bit small to me. I grow them four to a 20 litre pot and the root mass fills it by the end of the season. They also get 'floppy' if you dont give them some support. I just insert a few branched twigs around the pot to give them something to hang on to.

I agree that it is a bit small. I grew some two years ago in ASDA flower buckets, 4 to a bucket with a little bit of support.

              Hi Solway / Oldie,

So what you're saying is if growing individually I'd need at least 5 litre pots?
              Cheers
